Our journey combines the contrasts of some of China's great cities, covering the 21st century pace of Shanghai, the historic sights such as the Great Wall in Beijing, the Army of Terracotta Warriors in Xian, the stunning mountain scenery on the Li River in Guilin, the tiny fishing villages and lush farms on the spectacular limestone river near the charming little town of Yangshou, ad well as the green forests and Giant Pandas of Sichuan. Many fun activities will also be offered such as, kite-flying in Tiananmen Square, learning tai chi with locals in a park surrounding the Temple of Heaven, making a pottery warrior at a workshop in Xian, a calligraphy lesson with local children in Shanghai, panda watching in Chengdu, a Chinese painting class with local artists in Yangshou, and visitng caves in Guilin. We spend time with local families and children learning about Chinese ways of life - exchanging cultures and ideas, and making friends.
